Panama Canal

Xypex Admix was added to the concrete mix applied to the 5-meter diameter sewer surfaces. These sewers were severely deteriorated, with exposed aggregate causing turbulence, which reduced the filling and emptying time of the locks, consequently slowing down the passage of ships. To smooth the concrete surface, a two-inch thick shotcrete coating was applied.

Tunnels, Water Retaining Structures

Multibank 50 Building Panama

Xypex Patch’n Plug and Xypex Concentrate were used to repair leaks and defects in the canal and an underground water tank in this building. Previous attempts with other materials to fix voids and leaks at construction joints had failed. The resident architect, drawing on positive experiences with Xypex in other projects, chose it as the definitive solution. Despite the high hydrostatic pressure, which was reduced during application using weep holes, the leaks were permanently sealed.

Ocean Park Tower 1

The social area of this new luxury condo complex was designed to sit atop the uppermost level of the parking structure. The six floors of parking accommodate around 600 vehicles. With cars constantly entering and exiting, the contractor was concerned about the high likelihood of future water leaks through cracks caused by vibrations.
